Writing songs is like trying to reinvent the wheel. Everything you want to say has already been said, a thousand different ways. Everything I want to write has already been written - but not in my handwriting. This, I think, is the secret incredible songwriters have unlocked: their voice, their perspective is entirely authentic and original because no one ever has or ever will see through the exact lens they possess.
